Fall Out Boy is releasing an album soon called “American Beauty/American Psycho”, featuring songs such as “Centuries”, “The Kids Aren’t Alright”, “American Beauty/American Psycho”, and more. AB/AP will be a follow up to the bands previous record, “Save Rock and Roll”.

Centuries was their first single from the album, and not too bad in my opinion. Although many fans are saying that their music is changing and is more pop than pop punk, the more die-hard fans will still stick around and pre-order this new album. “It was interesting. It’s not like I don’t like it, it’s just different. But I’ll listen to it again.” Freshman Alissa Mattord said.

AB/AP is a fairly new single of theirs, not well known of though. The beginning sounded more of a Green Day song rather than a traditional FOB song. Various comments said that the song sounded too jumbled and rushed. I myself don’t like the beat but I do like the lyrics. The new single is catchy, but one of those “annoying-new-summer-singles-that-will-soon-be-forgotten” catchy. Sophomore Ryan Loeks says, “To be honest, I don’t really like this new song. It’s not their sound. ‘Centuries’ was good because it at least sounded like them.”

Many believe that FOB is still releasing music for the fans and not genuinely writing their music.  I have heard better music from them, so I can see what people mean.

AB/AP can take some getting used to. Just as people grow and change, so do bands. After about the third time listening to it, I found myself enjoying it and regretting not putting it on my iPod. Freshman Bradley Saldana said, “It was iffy. It was good, but it’s not my favorite song. My favortie song by them is ‘Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down.'”

This album will be up for pre-order on iTunes on December 15, 2014 in America, but will be officially released January 15, 2015, so make sure to keep an eye out for it.
